Mojo bars are delicious and balanced snacks loaded with the ideal combination of cereals, nuts and fruits – each in their natural form. They contain nothing artificial and are perfect to fill you up when you’re on the move. These bars give you your daily dose of protein, fiber and good fats in just the right proportion. So snack away!
Our bars are bound with glucose – one of the most natural forms of sugar. Unlike high fructose corn syrup and other sweeteners it does not get stored as fat. Instead, glucose is utilized for energy. Mojo bars contain 15-20% sugar – which would help build enough energy to last at least 2 hours. They make for great pre workout snacks, where energy is a priority!
Mojo bars are healthy balanced snacks, with about 5 gm of protein – just the right amount needed for a snack. The protein in Mojo bars is all drawn from natural sources like almonds, peanuts and soy. A ‘complete protein’ source, with all the 9 essential amino acids, this form is easily digested and absorbed by the body. So go ahead and try them, without worrying about bloating!
After intensive testing, Mojo bars have been reported to have less than 20ppm of gluten, which is the accepted level set by the FDA. Therefore, yes Mojo bars are gluten free. Gluten is a protein found in wheat based products and could sometimes cause bloating and flatulence.
Grabbing a Mojo bar for breakfast and replacing a few more snacks in the day with them would effectively result in you consuming approximately 500 calories less than you would with other foods like sandwiches, dosa, bhel etc. If you were to do the math, that comes up to a deficit of 3500 kcals a week, i.e. 1 pound! What could be better than a healthy gradual weight loss? Also, by eating at regular intervals and not skipping meals you will boost your metabolism and in turn, aid fat loss.
Fiber is an essential constituent of our diet. Soluble fibers help digestion by binding fat and letting it out of the body. Mojo bars contain 3-5 gm of fiber which would be equivalent to the fiber in 2-3 bowls of salad. However, with Mojo bars, you’ll feel full longer and of course, digest your food better!
There are 2 types of fats - Good fat and Bad fat. Good fat helps reduce cholesterol by decreasing the bad cholesterol and increasing the HDL (good cholesterol). Also, good fat (in Omega 3, 6 and 9) helps boost memory and prevents heart diseases. Our bars have 80% unsaturated fat, i.e. good fat, and a very minimal amount of saturated fat. This amount of saturated fat is needed in the body to protect the organs. So, although the bars are slightly high in fat content, they are healthy as can be, since all the fat is good fat that is derived naturally from the nuts and seeds.
Sweeteners are available in many forms and are widely used by people. We do not, however, recommend using artificial sweeteners too often. They do not provide a feeling of satisfaction after consuming them - There is still an urge to feed that sweet tooth. What’s more, they also have a slightly bitter after taste. Instead, we recommend consuming a little bit of sugar, which can be burned off as energy, but gives you the satisfaction of consuming something sweet!
Mojo bars are made from all-natural healthy ingredients such as whole grain cereals, nuts and fruits. They are bound by glucose and honey, using just the right amount of sugar required to give you the energy you need. Additionally, the saturated fat content is less than 20%, unlike the other snacks like biscuits. The bars serve as wholesome snacks which give you all nutrients and vitamins in their ideal proportions. Compared to this, bhel or a sandwich would probably not give you the protein you need and a dosa or idli might not have the goodness of all the vitamins. Chips and biscuits would give you more sodium, saturated fats and sugar than required from a snack. It has been our relentless effort to weigh out all these aspects and create a healthy balanced bar which would make a perfect snack.
These bars are a great pre-workout snack, as they provide energy to last 2 hours and keep you going through a great workout. Also, the slow release of sugar from the whole grains and nuts will help you retain your energy and boost your workout. The chocolate bar has 5 gm of protein, which is good for muscle recovery and replenishing energy, making it a perfect post workout snack as well. In case of an intense workout you can also combine it with milk. So whether it’s before or after your workout, go ahead – snack!
